Super Blue Moon in Pisces Thoughts
Life can get busy fast and lots of times we don’t even notice it happening. All different kinds of things can sweep us away. This was the case with me the last couple weeks as I could feel the new school year approaching. This made me want to squeeze out as many summer activities in a week as was humanely possible. Thankfully I already have practices in place so I began to feel within my own body that I was in a state of too much doing rather than being. For me this shows up as fatigue, muscle twitches, a general unease in my body. Now when I feel that I listen and I slow.
Because of the way the world moves it isn’t easy to make time everyday to slow down and connect but there are things that can make it easier. Showing up here once a month is a great place to start but we want you to take the feeling you leave here with into all the days between.
We choose a different theme each month to show you different ways you can connect to the outer world and your inner world. Last month we suggested putting little sign posts by each water faucet as a reminder to connect to the miracle that is water. This month we will use the moon to look at the world in presence and feel the stillness within!
This full moon happens to be a Super Blue Moon in the astrological sign of pisces. A full moon occurs when the sun and moon are aligned with Earth. The gravity from the moon and sun pull together on the Earth in the same direction effecting the tides of the ocean. We are interconnected with this planet and so it only makes sense that we can feel the energy of the moon when we tune in.
A blue moon is the second full moon occurring in one month and it only happens once every 2-3 years so it is considered a rare celestial event.
The blue moon this month also happens to be a super moon which is when the moon is closest to the Earth in it’s orbit making it appear even bigger. This months Blue Super Moon will rise on August 30th at 9:35 PM. It is a beautiful, powerful moon!
I have mentioned before that my favorite quote is by Albert Einstein, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” If we take the time to look up at the moon and recognize the fact that we are standing on a spinning planet in the middle of space and our planet has a moon in it’s orbit it is impossible not to be filled with awe.
People across the planet connect to the full moon through rituals and spiritual practices. We will be giving out a printout of different rituals and practices you can use to connect to the moon on the 30th. One I just have to mention is simply observing the moon daily. See if you can do it for a month. Go outside every night and watch the phases of the moon. Go outside and connect to your breath, than look up at the sky and notice the moon, allow your thoughts to subside as you fully immerse yourself in the sight of the moon. Just a few minutes of this will calm your entire system.
